After graduation

The academic training in Linguistics and Literature opens up a whole range of professional possibilities. Our alumni in humanities have a large cultural and mental flexibility, a methodological attitude and insight into the basic mechanisms of communications and into the dynamics of the construction of discourse. Their professional career can be very unpredictable. The specific humanist training is much appreciated by a large number of branches of business such as marketing, human resources, management, front office or project management. The road to more traditional sectors such as teaching, publishing, journalism, advertising, media, translation and linguistic consultancy, international cooperation or the sectors of tourism or culture can also be taken. Those wishing to continue their academic studies in a ‘natural’ way can commence an academic career. After the Master a period of PhD research or research on projects ensues, ideally followed by a period of postdoctoral research.
